Tombstone Pass Trailhead

The Tombstone Pass Trailhead on the Sweet Home Ranger District is provides access to the Cone Peak Trail #3408 and Tombstone Nature Trail #3420. It also provides access to the histroci Santiam Wagon Road. The site is popular year-round, with summer wildflower hikes on Iron Mountain and several winter recreation trails. Because of its popularity, trailhead parking if often full and trail access has become a safety issue in recent years. With support from the Willamette Valley Visitors Association and the Oregon Trails Fund, Cascade Volunteers and the Willamette National Forest will be rerouting the start of this trail and providing additional wayfinding signage in the spring of 2021.

Total Project Budget: $5,000 (including $1,000 in-kind volunteer labor)
