Fall Creek Trail Recovery

The Fall Creek Trail is a hiker-only route and a designated National Recreation Trail. The trail is popular with locals year round, boasting autumn mushrooms, summer swimming holes, and spring wildflowers. The winter of 2019 brought heavy snows and landslides to the West Cascades, devastating many trails in the Willamette National Forest (WNF). The Fall Creek Trail is currently closed, with hundreds of hours of work remaining. Roughly 8 miles of the trail need to be cleared of logs, 4 structures need to be replaced, and all 13.7 miles need sporadic re-benching and tread work.

With the support of the Pacific Northwest Forest Service Association, Cascade Volunteers trail crews are working to reopen the trail. CV will be coordinating volunteer labor on the trail beginning in 2020, logging and retreading the Middle and Upper trail sections.

If you would like to contribute funding or supplies to this project, please contact alyssa.archer@cascadevols.org. To volunteer, fill out our volunteer application.
