Salt Creek Falls Railing Repairs

Salt Creek Falls is Oregon’s second highest single drop waterfall, cascading 286 feet (87m). The site features a wheelchair accessible observation platform at the top of the waterfall and steep steps leading down to an additional viewing area at the bottom of the falls. The site is popular year-round with hikers and snowshoers. Extreme weathering of the wooden railings leading down to the lower viewing area has presented a significant safety concern in recent years. With support from the Willamette Valley Visitors Association and the Oregon Trails Fund, Cascade Volunteers and the Willamette National Forest will be replacing this railing in the summer of 2021.
